I have always found packaging design to be an engaging and enjoyable process. One of my favorite projects at Shillington involved selecting a random profession and product, then building a story to shape the branding.
For my prompt, I received "Detective" and "Hot Sauce" and designed the packaging to resemble a case file, creating an immersive experience where customers uncover the "evidence" themselves. The branding story I developed follows this concept:
Inspired by the unsolved crimes of the Infamous “Hot Sauce Bandit”
In the early 1990s, a series of bizarre robberies took place along the East Coast over a span of ten years. Owners of farmers markets and organic grocery stores claimed to have lost all their rare peppers on opening days. All empty pepper stalls had one thing in common: a mysterious hot sauce signature with the initials XX.
Theses recipes are taken from evidence found at each crime scene...it’s time for you to investigate.
